Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
DuraFlex Chimney Repair in Dallas: What to Know First
We repair DuraFlex chimney systems across Dallas as an independent DuraFlex service provider, not as a factory-authorized shop. That matters because we recommend what the flue actually needs, not what a corporate warranty checklist says it should get. Most DuraFlex repairs in Dallas run $350 to $2,800 depending on whether we’re patching a section, replacing a tee, or relining an entire flue.
If you own a home with a DuraFlex liner and you’ve been told it needs work, this page is for you. We’ll walk through how DuraFlex products actually fail, what repair costs in Dallas, and why we put every repair in writing before we start. Need a straight answer now? Call (361) 492-4099 and talk to a live person.
How DuraFlex Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
- DuraFlex 304L liner seam separation at the tee connection. The single-wall 304L alloy liner is the most common DuraFlex product we see in Dallas chimneys, and the weak point is almost always where the liner meets the tee at the bottom of the flue. Condensation from gas appliances sits there, and over five to ten years the seam can open up just enough to leak flue gas into the chase. We catch it on camera, then cut out the failed section and weld or clamp in a proper replacement, depending on what the liner’s condition calls for.
- DuraFlex Pro 316Ti pitting from high-sulfur gas. The Pro line uses 316Ti alloy for better corrosion resistance, but Dallas gas supply can carry enough sulfur to pit even that over a long run. The symptom is usually a white, crusty deposit inside the liner that flakes off when disturbed. Owners see it and think creosote. It’s not. It’s corrosion. We identify it on camera and explain whether the liner has years left or needs section replacement now.
- DuraFlex SW (smooth wall) ovalization in tall flues. Smooth-wall DuraFlex is oval when it ships, and it’s designed to round out during install. In taller Dallas chases, especially on two-story homes in Lake Highlands or Richardson, an installer who didn’t pull it correctly leaves it partially ovalized. That constricts draft and traps moisture. We can often correct the liner’s shape and re-support it without replacing the whole run. Sometimes we can’t, and we’ll tell you honestly which one it is.
- DuraFlex rain cap and top plate blow-off from North Texas storms. The cap and plate are the most exposed parts of any DuraFlex system. Dallas gets straight-line winds and hail that beat these components hard. We see bent caps, torn screens, and plates lifted enough to let rain pour straight down the chase. The fix is fast: replace the cap, re-secure the plate, and seal the top of the chase correctly.
- DuraFlex masonry transition leaks at the flue tile gap. DuraFlex is often installed through an existing clay tile flue, and the gap between the new liner and old tile is supposed to be sealed at the top and bottom. When that seal fails, you get water running down the outside of the liner. In Dallas, freeze-thaw cycles make this worse. We pull the cap, re-seal the transition properly, and re-attach before water does more damage to the firebox below.

Our DuraFlex Chimney Repair Process
Hank Delano has been climbing Dallas chimneys long enough to know that the only way to fix a liner correctly is to see it first and write down what you saw. Here’s how a DuraFlex repair goes with us.
- 1
Call, talk to a person, book the visit. A live body answers the phone around the clock. You’ll get a scheduled window and the name of the technician coming out.
- 2
Camera inspection, no guesses. Before anything is repaired, we run a camera through the full flue from top to bottom. You’ll see the footage. If the flue’s clear, Hank will tell you. If it’s not, he’ll show you exactly why.
- 3
Parts decision in plain English. For most DuraFlex jobs, we recommend OEM or equivalent aftermarket parts. We’ll tell you if aftermarket saves real money and whether it holds up in Dallas conditions. No brand loyalty games.
- 4
Written price before any work starts. The number on the invoice is the number you approved. No surprise charges, no “we found something else” price creep.
- 5
The repair and the test. We replace or patch the failed section, re-seal transitions, re-secure caps and plates, then run the draft test and a second camera pass to confirm the flue is clear and drawing correctly.
- 6
Written guarantee, good for one full year. Every DuraFlex repair we do is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If a covered repair fails within a year, we come back at no charge. No argument.

AfterWhat DuraFlex Chimney Repair Costs in Dallas
Dallas pricing for DuraFlex work depends on access, height, and how much of the liner has failed. A simple cap and top plate replacement usually runs $350 to $650. Patching a failed seam or replacing a short section runs $600 to $1,200. If the liner is heavily corroded and the whole flue needs a new DuraFlex reline, expect $1,800 to $2,800 for a typical single-story chase, more for a two-story or difficult access.
What moves the price: roof pitch, chase height, whether we need a lift, and whether the existing liner can be salvaged in sections or has to come out entirely. We don’t charge for the camera inspection when you book a repair. Call (361) 492-4099 and we’ll give you a straight answer on what your DuraFlex job will cost in Dallas.

FAQs
It can, depending on who does the work and what parts they use. As an independent DuraFlex service provider, we can’t speak for the manufacturer’s warranty terms. What we can do is use OEM or equivalent parts and document everything with camera footage and a written report, so you have a clear record of what was done and why.
Most DuraFlex liners in Dallas can be repaired by section if the failure is localized, like a seam opening at the tee or corrosion at the bottom few feet. Full replacement only makes sense when corrosion is widespread or the liner has lost structural integrity through most of its length. We’ll show you the camera footage so you can see the decision yourself.
Most DuraFlex repairs in Dallas take one visit, usually four to six hours depending on access and what needs to come apart. Full relines can take a full day. If weather delays us, we don’t disappear; the office calls and reschedules.
Then we come back at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. It covers the repair for one full year from the service date. No deductible, no argument, no “that was a different crew.” Call (361) 492-4099 and we’ll handle it.
Yes. A lot of Dallas DuraFlex jobs need both liner work and masonry repair – cracked crowns, spalling brick, failed flashing, open mortar joints. Water gets into the chase first, then the liner fails. We handle the whole chimney, not just the tube inside it.
